FULL 4-Day Vaulting, Riding & Horse Training Summer Camp
June 13-16, 2017
WHERE: Multiple Locations in Chico & Orland TBA
WHO: For vaulters and riders of any level. We recommend ages 10 and up. Chaperones for 2-4 vaulters are requested to help keep the camp running smoothly. Please note this camp will be more in depth and challenging than the Introduction to Vaulting Camp in July and includes riding and vaulting activities.
And is also for new horses being introduced and evaluated for the sport of vaulting as well as in depth training for horses already being vaulted on.
WHAT: Summer Camp activities for vaulters and riders will include:
- Mastering Horsemanship Skills & Knowledge (AVA Horsemanship Level 1 Testing will be available for AVA members attending the camp :)
- Learning How to Handle a Horse/for Groundwork
- Vaulting Sessions on the Horse and Barrel
- Fun Fitness Training Sessions
- Riding Lessons or Lunge Line Riding Lessons Based on Skill Level
- A Special Yoga Trapeze Session
- Freestyle Composition Session

Teams will also get 2 Sessions Geared to Help Take Their Team to the Next Level
All camp activities are focused on teamwork and harmony with the horse to help our horses be HAPPIER and do their BEST.
Summer Camp activities for horses and trainers will include:
- In Depth Groundwork Sessions
- Lunging Sessions
- Riding Sessions
- Vaulting Sessions for Horses and Trainers/Owners with a Focus on Understanding the Mechanics of Vaulting and How to Help Vaulters Achieve the Height of Harmony with their Horse
- Horsemanship (AVA Horsemanship Level 1 Testing will be available for AVA members and coaches attending the camp :)
- Equine & Human Anatomy
- Equipment Fit
- Posture & Movement Analysis
Individualized evaluations will be used for each horse and trainer throughout all camp sessions to custom tailor the training and help you receive at our event!
Note 1: Each vaulter will be assigned and will
work with a horse and their trainer/owner
during the week of the camp; helping care for
their camp horse and will need to learn
details specifically about their camp horse for
horsemanship camp activities.
Note 2: The last day of the camp on Friday we will
hold a mock competition with Judges
feedback and we will also hold an AVA
Horsemanship Level 1 Examination for
coaches, lungers, and vaulters.
Note 3: Extra bonus activities will be included when
possible i.e. an outdoor movie night, etc. and
a full schedule of specific activities will be
provided as we get closer to the camp
date when everything is firmed up.
CAMPING: Tent Camping will be at the Parkway
RV Resort & Campground in Orland, CA: you
will need to bring your own camp gear &
equipment. (Please note we need to
carefully arrange camping and Megan Grove
will need a complete list of vaulters,
chaperones and/or trainers/horse owners and
any other extra persons)
RV Camping is also available with an
Additional RV Fee of $20 per night.
PLEASE NOTE: Overnight Camping for
vaulters & chaperones and Overnight
Stabling for Local Horses is not included in
the LOCAL packages :)
STABLING: Stabling will be at the Glenn County
Fairgrounds in Orland, CA: there are stalls
available or pens can be requested as well :)
FOOD: Basic Food including Breakfast, Lunch, &
Dinner will be provided. If you have special
dietary needs, you will need to bring your
own foods as well to make sure you have
plenty to eat and please let us know in the
registration form.
COST:
FULL Horse Training Camp Registration = $650 per horse with 1 trainer/owner for 4 full camp days including camping, stabling, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner
FULL Additional Horse Registration = $500 per horse signing up from the same club and/or owner
FULL Vaulter Training Camp Registration = $550 per vaulter for 4 full camp days including camping, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner
FULL Team Vaulter Registration = $500 per vaulter when 4-7 vaulters sign up as a team/2-phase team
LOCAL Horse Training Camp Registration = $450 per horse with 1 trainer/owner for 4 full camp days including breakfast, lunch, and dinner
LOCAL Additional Horse Registration = $300 per horse signing up from the same club and/or owner
LOCAL Vaulter Training Camp Registration = $400 per vaulter for 4 full camp days including breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Summer Camp Deposit Per Participant = $300 non-refundable except if event is cancelled
Final Balance Due by May 15th, 2017.
Horses Must be 6 yrs or older. No stallions. Horses & Vaulters of All Levels Welcome.
